Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, talked about the Premier League title race following his team's 3-1 win against Arsenal at Emirates Stadium. Although Man City joined Arsenal on 51 points and moved ahead of them on goal difference after the crucial game, Guardiola still considered Arsenal to be at the top of the league because they had a match in hand.
Guardiola stated that there were still many games to play, with the Champions League and Europa League on the horizon. He added that it was challenging for everyone. However, he acknowledged the significance of the win against Arsenal, noting that a few weeks ago, losing to Arsenal would have left them eight or nine points behind and almost out of the race.
Guardiola also acknowledged that Arsenal had better results than Man City so far this season. Arsenal has one match in hand at home against Everton on Wednesday, March 1.
Meanwhile, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed his frustration with the team's loss to Man City. Arteta felt that his side lost the match, and he highlighted Takehiro Tomiyasu's under-hit backpass, which gifted Man City the opening goal. Arteta acknowledged that it was tough to play at the level required to beat Man City and lamented the missed chances. He emphasized the need for his team to move on and learn from the loss.
